calling identification mathlab help

Hi;
i have a term project which is about caller id. i'll store telephone signal with dsp kit and this kit demodulate signal. So i'll have serial binary data. My problem is how can i write a program with mathlab to analyse these data. i don't have enough knowledge about mathlab programming. which code i should use. thank's.

I have a caller Id assignment by matlab ...
I have .wav file sampled at 8 kHz of length 36.3 KB .. I used wavread fucntion in matlab to take data of this file in matlab and I filled an array of length 18591 points . I plotted the data points as well .

Now that I do not understand what are these 18591 points ?? are they bits ??
adn they are in magnitude of 0.002 and 0.007 mostly how can I digitize them to take some data ??

It is a caller Id application can anyone help me please ???
I have all array file, ,wav file and plot of 18591 points please help mee...
