Has anybody tried installing/using Cadence IC5033 on Mandriva 2006? If I'm correct it's not among those distributions Cadence recommends.

Check this topic

I've already read those topics. But they don't answer my question. The answers I am looking for are: Yes, IC5033 works well on Mandriva or No, IC5033 doesn't run on this OS.
But thanks anyway.

I don't have first hand experience with Mandriva. But I can tell you that if it's got a 2.6 kernel and a later libc then it may not work. My advice to you is to just use RH 7.2 or RHEL 3.

Add these lib to your
LD_LIBRARY_PATH .
Maybe it can work .

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1144368 2006-02-11 03:21 libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 401284 2006-02-09 21:41 libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3

good luck !

You also have to make sure you have older libc versions on your system also.
In RHEL 3, these are:
compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.128
compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.128
compat-glibc-7.x-2.2.4.32.6
compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.96.128
compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.128

You also might have to do:
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1

It could be a problem if Mandriva linux is not RedHat based.
I know that SuSE and Fedora are Redhat based linuxes so binaries, compiled for any of this distribs will work on any of the same Linux-based OS.

For example - Gentoo is not RedHat based, so binaries couldn't properly be runned on Gentoo if they were compiled, for example, on RedHat or FC.
