Hi everyone, I'm a newbie that currently working on my degree's project and facing a critical issue with Cadence Virtuoso. This problem has been going on for many weeks and if it isn’t resolved soon, it could delay my graduation by up to one year.

The simulation function isn’t working, when I try to choose an analysis in ADE ( Analyses > Choose…) nothing pops up. This issue was already present before the vendor installed the new version of Spectre and unfortunately, it still remains after the installation. I’ve reached out to everyone I could for help, including my supervisor and the Cadence vendor. The license warning keeps appearing and the vendor has been trying to solve it for many days.

-Has anyone faced a similar issue where ADE doesn’t respond when selecting analysis?
-Could this be caused by a license, versioning or environment configuration issue (missing simulator path, unsupported version)?
-Is there any alternative EDA tool that supports both schematic and layout design? Currently, I’m using GPDK045 in Cadence Virtuoso.
-Is it possible to find someone who is actively using Cadence Virtuoso and could help simulate my design as a service? I’d be happy to provide the design detail and offer payment for their help. If anyone provides this kind of support or knows a platform where it’s commonly available, please let me know.

I’d really appreciate any guidance or suggestions. Thank you in advance and have a good day.

I can recommend Xschem and ngspice for IC design, I have done a real part through a real foundry that made it through qual using those (plus klayout, but no mention of layout).

Expect gpdk ought to support basic SPICE. The creation of symbols is easy but may be unnecessary.

But your problem appears to be lack of license keys or license service altogether and this is a sysadmin / CAD weasel problem.

Thank you for your reply. I would like to ask can Xschem and ngspice support the installation or use of GPDK045?

In my case, all of my project reports and documentation are already based on Cadence Virtuoso and the GPDK045 PDK so I’m exploring alternative methods that can closely replicate that environment. My design is just a amplifier. Is there anyone who provides such a service? I already have the design concept and calculations prepared
