dspic c compiler

Hi,

I want to program a dsPIC33 chip using C. Does anyone know where I can find cheap C compiler to program the dsPIC chip. I know the microchip MPLAB C 30 compiler but it is very expensive 895.00 dollars.

So anyone has suggestions?

Greatly appriciate your help.

Regards,
abel

H ehe ehe eh ! this problem is Nothing ! you should use the C30 complier, after 60 days, only some extention function is limited and complier can translate 80% flash memmory (we rarely use 70% flash memory) --> C30 is the free ! Good luck for U !

Thanks KST,

I know C30 complier full version is for free for 60 days and some functions will be disabled after that.

That is why I am thinking that after I wrote all the codes and everything and if it is not working after 60 days passed then all my work will be for nothing. So I didnt want to take the risk.

Can you explain more about how compiler can translate 80% flash memory. I have never programmed dsPIC.

CCS was planning to launch compiler for dsPIC series. Check out their website h**p://www.ccsinfo.com

I have checked CCS website they dont have dsPIC C compiler yet.

thanks

dspic compiler

CCS have been planning to release the dsPIC compiler for ages if I can remember. I don't think so there's any good waiting for something which is so uncertain. I think the only stuff they disable is the code optimization after 60 days. Other than that it is similar with the full version I guess, correct me if I'm wrong. IAR also started supporting them but it will more expensive.

H eheheh he eh ! Dear Abel51 !
C30 after 60days still use but some extention function don't use (we usually never use the functions) and 80% flash memory is C30 complier which translate 80% volume of the flash memory for the kind of IC.
Really C30 have got been from the GNU so if you use Linux, you can use this complier free ! This is the link !

Thanks

No, but mikroElektronika has its own ICD hardware to use with mikroC, which is at least 20x faster than MPLAB ICD2.
