building ir transmitter???

i want to build a ir transmitter for sony tv using at89c51. plz tell me which protocol does sony remote control use...and how can i build both ir transmitter and receiver. plz give me where i can get info abt the protocol and how can i make them???

Project for infrared :

And for hardware see anything remote control schematics, they all similar,
nothing unusual , all have 3.3V digital inputs, outputs and connected infrared
transmitter and receiver. May be you just buy some remote control and
resemble it on parts for you design :).
 

can someone pls suggest a schematic for 38 kHz ir transmitter that can be used with tsop1738....i want to build an automatic occupancy detection system using ir leds and tsop as receiver..
