it's Cadence's Synthesis tool .. same as Synopsys's Design Compiler ..
Cadence also has RTL Compiler .. which is used for bigger designs or multimillion gate chips ..

Synopsys Design Compiler currently has a huge market share .. but Build-Gates has recently come into the stage .. and so many companies are using it these days .. specially that it's less expensive than DC ..

Execuse me .. what has this to do with the topic of this post ? .. seems you got the name (Build Gates) in wrong way ..

Please read the previous couple of replies .. Build Gates is a synthesis tool .. and not a concept concerning building gates ..

Can any one help us to get Encounter 5.2? We may find so many hings to learn in it?

Also I think it is better than DC+PT! What do you suggest?

The problem is that DC+PT is considered the sign off industry standard ..

I would like to ask a question .. is SoC Encounter + NC considered a complete digital flow starting from HDL down to GDSII ? .. or I will have to use other tools like Assura or so ?

Another question, what is the name of Cadence tool that corresponds to PT in Synopsys ?

None, PT is still the most popular tool in the industry.
Because BuildGate was no good for synthesis at all, two years ago Cadence bought Get2chip to replace BuildGate. Get2chip is very close to be as good as DC.

Never heard about Get2Chip ! .. is it RTL Compiler under a new industrial name ?
And what supports your claims that BuildGates is not a good tool ? .. this is the first time I hear this ! .. can u send an article or anything supporting that ?
