Dear All,

I would love to learn about the basic functionality, power and efficiency calculation of Buck, boost converters and LDO.
And the difference between LDO and Buck too.
Pls do share links or articles.

Hi,

the operation of an actual buck and boost converter function is described in the iC-DC DS ( https://www.ichaus.biz/DC_datasheet_en ) starting page 11. Since it is a hybrid converter it contains a buck/boost-converter followed by a linear regulator to get low noise supply voltage for analog circuit supply. An LDO is similar to the linear regulation, but optimized for low drop-out voltage(difference between input and output voltage can down to a few hundred millivolts).

Enjoy your design work!
