I'm trying to output a message from an ATMega32 every five seconds via a serial (RS232) port. I'd like program the ATMega through the serial port as well. How would I be able to do this? Would this mean I would need a bootloader? I just want to be able to flash a new program using the serial connection without having to use a special programmer. Bootloaders sound like the way to go, but I'm not sure where I could get one, or maybe I could program one myself...?
