if i learn dsp,what do i master?
please introduce me a book for beginner!

Re: dsp beginner,help!

I think u should go for topic of Digital Filters because this covers a huge field of Digital Signal Processing and you can also extend this to Digital Image and Video Processing.....
I have uploaded few documents on digital filters and u can get this on the following link

Sincerely,

Re: dsp beginner,help!

Dear ones,
Fourier transform is just one type of transform nice for image anlaysis, but if so then there are lots of other transforms DWT, DCT, KLT, Haar, Hadamard, Laplace etc. I think Transform is one of the basic concepts and If we go into the market of DSP we will see filters and filters used for different types of works, e.g. Filter banks for analysis and compresion, GSM filters, Adaptive noise filters. So my recommendation is true in this sense the mastering the filters will make you the expert of a proper technology so that you can use it in any DSP field, whether it is image or video processing or earthquake signal processing or Array signal processing etc.
And transforms are the basic need of Filter design so it will be automatically be covered when u master the filter design

Think properly before rushing into any thing
Take care
Sincerely,

i think the experiment is also importpant
just read the book can't make you understand the dsp very well
so you can use the DSP starter kit(DSK)

sincerely

Re: dsp beginner,help!

Practicle approach is important. You can download free software like octave (www.octave.org) which is similar to Matlab. You will get ready functions which will help you to understand better.
