fhss in bluetooth

Hello,

we want to test Bluetooth RF-ICs (transceivers).

I am actually wondering about the needed specification of my test equipment.

Bluetooth uses 79 channels (1MHz) with an overall bandwidth of arround 80 MHz.
Is it possible or common to downconvert the whole 80 MHz spectrum with frequency selection as a postprocessing task ???

If yes, is it still possible to do it the same way, if the bandwith increases to 200...500 MHz as with modern UWB Tranceivers.

If not, my LO settling/switching time has to be fast enough to get the 1600 hops/second (Bluetooth). Our Signal Generator switches with about 2...5ms.

Thank you very much.
