Hi every one
I might be asking a stupid basic question please bear with me,

In choosing the RF choke or DC block capacitor what value do we choose normally or we just take any random value?

Second thing i believe that self resonant freq of lump component should be more than the operating frequency so that the operation is done in safe area other wise the component will change their behaviour!

Please advice on first part
Many thanks
Farhan

I might be a newbie, but hopefully I can help!

I've been told RF chokes are chosen so that XL is at least 500 ohms at the frequency of operation, and for coupling capacitors, XC should be less 10 ohms.

So for example, in a 50-ohm system at 2.45GHz, a choke should have an inductance of more than 33nH and a coupling cap should be larger than 6pF.

Any 'big kids' know any different? I'm learning too, so if this is wrong, I'd kinda like to know!
