hi all
does anyone know best tools for analog and mixed signal design?or what company developed best sw for AMS design?
any help

hamster verilog

For circuit simulation of AMS designs, there are:

SMASH from Dolphin -- h**p://w*w.dolphin.fr/
Hamster-AMS
AMSWizard from a Russian company. They give 4-month evaluation.

Also academic tools like SEAMS for Unix platforms.

For simulation + layout you should for capabilities in Cadence or Mentor Graphics.

tnx the_penetrator,but do you know cadence or mentor tools.do you make benchmark?

What do you mean "the best"? Accaracy, Speed, Capability, Price and Interoparatabily?
Cadence: Assura
Mentor: Mach-TA
Synopsys: Saber-Design
Nassda: Hsim

And a lot of other. It depends on how big is your design and what kind of your design

I'll add one more here:

Mentor: ADVance MS

modelsim ams

assura is not AMS tool, it's physical layout verification (DRC/LVS/DFM) tool.

nanosim ultrasim machta

FTLsystems have a new tool, ExplorationVHDL, available on their site. h**p://w*w.ftlsys.com/products/exploration.shtml

Exploration™
Exploration™, one of FTL Systems' Auriga® family of products, offers all the simulation power of Pathway™ priced for student or personal use. Exploration™ supports embedded scheduling[tm], VHDL (Available Now) and VHDL-AMS simulation with SPICE and Verilog support (Available Soon). Exploration™ also features multi-platform availability, and incremental source compilations.

ExplorationVHDL™ is the digital only version of Exploration™. It is a full featured VHDL digital simulator that is perfectly suited for the classroom or self study of VHDL. It also accompanies the book The Designers Guide to VHDL 2nd Edition by Peter Ashenden published by Morgan Kaufmann.

Unique Features
Capacity: 64 Design Units, 300 Digital Variables, 300 Digital Signals, and 300 Analog Nodes
VHDL, Verilog, and VHDL-AMS simulation capabilities within one package
Highly optimizing compiler generates executables tuned for a specific target processor and system implementation

Also: Standard compliance

I hope smash can use "nWave (novas)" it is better than smash default , and I hope smash can report "VCD digital format"

vhdl ams products

Hi!
What about Mentor Sy$tem Vision VHDL-AMS simulators??. It also can use SPICE files and has a very nice interface.

Other good VHDL-AMS sim are:

- Smash ( www.dolphin.fr )
- Saber De$igner ( now Synop$ys propery ) uses MAST language, pretty
close to VHDL -AMS.

smash ams

Synopsys: nanosim
Mentor Graphic: ADMS
Dolphin: SMASH

vhdl-ams cadence ams designer

Ja use AMS Advance from Mentor - best tools for mix- mode simulashin and big project
Cadence to use AMS fo mixmod.MACHTA is not mixmod simulator,it is eldo simulator for
biges postlayout simulation

EverCAD's ADiT!! (www.evercad.com)

ADiT has many "features" so that it can run in "spice" mode,
"turbo" mode, "mot" mode, "hdl" mode.

I heard ADiT is popular in Taiwan and Japan. Replacing HSIM there.

And very smooth A/D and D/A interface. at least easier than Nanosim.... I heard.

where can I get A-dit's user manule?

mentor adms versus cadence ams

you coold go for spector from cadence, i had used it for spice deigns but idont know whether it will fit to AMS or not.
