Hello frnds,

I have ckt with 385 V DC constant output. I want to make it variable from 100 to 385 V, Please suggest the best PWM IC for this application

While not the "best", the UC3842 is one of the most popular, inexpensive and easy to use.
And it is available from various manufacturers. The CMOS versions help with a lower startup current.

So You need to build a DC/DC postregulator, non-isolated from the primary, buck-type. Suggest You'd use any current-mode SMPS IC. UC3842...UC3845 is a good choise to start You design with. Another good variant is UC3823...UC3825 family.:|
There are also some specialised ICs manufactured by ST etc for buck converters.

400v pwm

Frnds,
I will like to make the picture more clear!

I have generated 385 V DC using ML4821 PFC controller.
Now i want to make this computer controlled varibale from 100 to 385 V using some PWM controller. From computer using some DAS card I want to chnage analog input 0 to 2V and make the output variable. currently I have planned to use the TL494.

Awaiting further suggestions!

Regards,

I see in Power supply for computer , they are usually use TL494 . Maybe there aren't much difference those IC . The most important is your design . But I don't have a good book about this . Anybody have a good design switching power supply give me a advise.
