Hi to everyone i am very new to matlab... i want to calculate the beats per minute of a song and human heart beat programmatically. When i was searching for it i learned it is possible only using FFT algorithm, anyone knows about it pls give me a sample code for it......:)

what do you mean by beat (in song)over here.. Drum beat?
what source are you using to record the heart beat(stethoscope?)
 

i think you better read your basics again and you will get more details of programming from MATLAB central website
