Hi, I am using 3.7 V 1000 mAh Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery. My average current consumption is something like 12 mA. While searching through the web, I found such a formula :

Battery Life = (Ib / Id) x 0.7

Where:
Ib = Total Capacity Rating of battery (mAh)
Id = Current Consumption of the device in
milliamps (mA)

Could anyone confirm that this is a good approximation ? Or is there any other methods to estimate the life of my battery ?

Thanks.

This formula is a good estimator unless your current is very low ( > 500uA range). So with your 12mA you should be expecting some 60h of operation.
