hi
i have to work on a project to predict the phase noise of a pll. its something about extracting the noise using circuit level simulator like SpectreRF and incorparating the parameters in verilog-ams and simulating the pll at behavioral level. right now i am lost.
can you give some references which gives basic information about PLL's phase noise and related topics.

thanks

Here are some references that you may find usefull:

"Estimating PLL Phase Noise"

"Accurate Phase Noise Prediction in PLL Synthesizers"

"Noise Analysis of Phase Locked Loops and System Trade-offs"

The SMIRC lab at Stanford also has some good papers on phase noise. Thses papers also provide numerous references.

An article Entitled "Accurate Phase Noise Prediction in PLL Synthesizers" is available at:

Good luck!
