consider a charge of 10uc located at a dist of 5cm from spherical shell and its outer surface is grounded.
what is the totalcharge present in the spell? pl explain.

now if the spherical shell is replaced with a sphere of rad=2cm and its outer surfacer grounded, what is the total charge induced in the sphere?

I think :
when a charge is placed inside a sphere of any radius 'r',the charge on the sphere shell will be zero.

Looks like you are from India.If so there is a very good possibility of u preparing for IIT-JEE,the most toughest Engineering exam.Anyway its years since i did those problems.

Your question is not clear. The charge is placed in the centre of the sphere or out of it? And if it is out the 5cm distance is from the center or the surface?
 

the charge is 5cm away from center of sphere.
