:?:What resistor value and wattage value should I use to act as a “Bleeding Resistor” on a 26 MFD AC POWER CAPACITOR within a 120 Volt AC Line Circuit?

I would use something a little higher such as 47K 0.5W/1W to prevent the power dissipation while the circuit is working.

Hope this helps.
Tahmid.

i would use 2 resistors one high value like 220K,330K or even 1M
and one low value like the tahmid recommends @47K

the reason for this is
if the lower value one for some reason goes open circuit {flashover etc} dry jointed

the higher value one will still work to bleed the capacitor
its a higher safety for the extra cost of 1 extra resistor

not sure this is usefull info but one method i would employ

ive seen this method employed in hi end gear in the past...:)
