If u want to program AT89xx Series then programmer is not too costly. u have to spent about 1000-1500 for that
But if u want to program more than that then get a universal one


I m using a ATMEL programmer it works well, if u need it then PM me
don't forget to write your location

Quadri Electronics Design, Co-operative Market, Karachi: 1000/-
Universal Programmer: 1500-3000
Genius Programmer: 3000-4000
TOPWIN: 6000
SuperPRO: 8000
LabTOOL: 10000-12000

My advice would be Quadri if u want a cheap solution, SuperPRO or TOPWIN if u want versatility and are willing to spend.

Guys i have stk500 with builtin isp but i never use it )
Just found smaller alternative to it - avreal. I use stk200 adapter for it :

u can make it easily.this prog is compatible with stk200/300 prog.you can program with bascom or ... .

I did post schematics of a universal programmer few months ago, capable of programming not only ATmel but microchip mcu as well, I think its called pony prog.
However, if you want to buy some quality stuff go to ebay stores and you can pull a good deal. Transfer of money to seller is pretty easy if you know about western union and Zarco Exchange, where you need to give money in PKR and it will be paid to the seller in $.

I think if you want a cheap Programmer for the ATMEL series then yu should purchase the QADRI Electronics Programmer.

Other than this a programmer name "GENIUS" is also availabe in the market and its price is about Rs. 2500/=.

The above both Programmer are available in the Co-Operatie Market, Karachi.
