ASICDetect failure

i have an htc p3600 lcd black when boot
enter in bootloader
when launch an command task 37 ff
display this :
Windows CE Kernel for ARM (Thumb Enabled)
....
....
.....
[K :: KERNEL] Lcm_GetSource(): hitachi
[K :: KERNEL] ATI Bootloader: ASICDetect failure !!
[K :: KERNEL] GC Chip ID is 0xb402

I want to understand if
is a problem of kernel ?
or faulty hardware?
other ?
