I'm not sure what you are asking.
When you say common package and portability what do you mean , there may be a package used from different manufacturers but the mcu can't be compatible since the pinout changes (port pins , supplies , jtag etc)

Please elaborate.

Hi Alexan_e,

I´m asking if there are some implicitly standardized pinout, such as we can see on 8051 DIL-40 package core.
At older designs was possible to purchase it from a wide variety of manufacturers ( Phillips, Atmel, etc... ).

In fact, I´m not concerning to specific features from each manufacurers, but to the ones proper of standard Cortex-M3 core.
The reason I opened this thread was to start a new desing using a package easily purchased from more of only one manufacturer.

I'm afraid you will not find compatible pinouts in different companies for Cortex M3, Ive only seem such compatibility in some models of the same company that are intended for upgrade (usually between different cores)

Hi alexan_e,

That´s an unfortunate inference the most new popular, cheap and powerfull open 32 bit core familly what is acquiring more marketplace, cannot provide the same replacement reliability than some older 8 bit cores.

I hope our conclusion is not totally true, and somebody here can find and sugest at least 2 manufacturer cases which fit that demand.
