Arbiter schemes: Fixed priority; Round Robin: simple, look-ahead-1,look-ahead-16

Hi all,

I am reading OVL example (http://www.eda.org/ovl/pages/main_examples.html) and confused with 4 arbitration schemes:
Fixed priority; Round Robin: simple, look-ahead-1,look-ahead-16?

Is there any book or reference talk about arbiter schemes?

try this: Modern Operating Systems (ANDREW S. TANENBAUM)
There is another one, called Operating Systems, but I can't remember the name of the author
