First of all, i need to say that i am new here....so i really need help..

can somebody tell me about flyback dc dc converter plz and its applicayion plz...

thanks..

Re: help!!!!

in flyback DC-DC converter, the output transistor is delivering the power during off-time of switching waveform.
It is used in SMPS CIRCUITS.
you may refer the detailed explainnation from any power electronics book.

Due to its simplified topological structure flyback switching converter has its dominance in the low power, less than 200 W power supply market. eg Power supply in PCs.
In this topology of converter, the energy transferring action takes place during the flyback phase, when main switch is nonconducting. Therefore, the switch is isolated from the short induced peak surge, and the maximum power available is limited to the extent a PWM can stretch. Thus it provides inherent advantage of output short circuit protection.
For details you can refer Power Electronics Handbook Edited by M.H.Rashid[2001] or any power electronics book.
