Tensilica's Xtensa seems a future direction of soc development, i have seen some company use Xtensa in consumer electronics equipment, networking. Who knows why no 3G/2G handset solution use it? Not area or power effient ? business reason? or other reason?
 

Why did you said xtensa is a future direction of soc development ? what is its advantage?
