Any insight for PCIe future?

Just curious about where PCIe will go.
Do you think PCIe has a bright future or a dim one?

I think PCIE has a good future especially with serial protocols going to dominate in the future. Apart from that there is another variation of this protocol called MPCIE(for mobiles) which is also coming up.

Thanks for the reply. I see PCIe Gen4 adds major parts for MPCIE mechanism. The new sections are very tedious to read... Just wondering if any of these new chapter is really going to be accepted by mobile industry.
