This project (and its program) is definitely not mine. Please do not use my name!
For example I've never used the column scanning method, this program is (although in many places failed) attempt this, using a column-oriented (5 bytes/char) bitmap table.

I always wrote that my uploaded projects work ONLY in Proteus. These circuits are extreme simplified to get a possible real and fast simulation.
To build a lot of things have to change and should be added to the circuit:
- use Common Anode (row side) matrices instead of the Common Cathode matrices for Proteus,
- use row- and column side power drivers with well valued current-limiting resistors,
- add a proper oscillator and reset circuit and a lot of decoupling capacitors
... and so on ....
PS.
The same applies to your other question as well: https://www.edaboard.com/threads/264741/
although the there used DSN is mine, but the HEX program does not.
