I have some Antistatic wristband strap on my bench but don't know if they are in good shape, how do I test then?

Your wrist strap probably has a built-in 1Megohm resistor. So, if you have a meter that can measure that high you would simply measure the resistance from the skin contact to the banana plug (or clip). They make testers that do this automatically, if you're inclined to buy one, although they're about US$100. Seems a bit expensive to me.
