- watching the relation of individual harmonic currents
As far as I know it's a feature of the harmonic balance analyzer to show the individual harmonic currents. You'll see, that 1st harmonic is increased compared to a non-resonant case, particularly a pure real source impedance. The rectifier efficiency is increased this way, also for the two diode circuit.

- losses by DC current
As said, the DC current and the losses it creates in the source resistance are the major reason, why the simple half-wave circuit is less effective. To show, that the DC source current matters, you can set up a (low frequency) half-wave circuit with an inductor in parallel to the source, that drains the DC current. It will have a higher efficiency.
