Hi,
Its a bit easy task to design antenna structures in Microstripes 7.0. the ease of meshing and time it takes to simulate is less compared to HFSS.
But, the antenna design is effective only if the structure is not complex.
HFSS is a good solution but MICROSTRIPES has an unknown potential.
It approach with TLM (Time domain) really make the difference for spped and accuracy (I like their meshing approach too, pretty smart !!!)
Ya HFSS is accurate if u know the settings and do the meshing
but if u have a simple design like a microstrip antenna for WLAN or Wi-Fi as the structure is simple u can opt microstripes as it allows simple meshing..where as HFSS auto meshes the simple structure uniformly and because of that u may find difference in the center freq and bandwidth
Is Microstripes 7 can be used to simulate phased array microstrip antenna? I interested for using this software. Can you tell me anything about it? If you have reference manual, user's guide, or tips and tricks, would you share it to me? Thank you.
microstripes might be relatively faster than HFSS at certain types of design, but is it necessarily as accurate too?? i'v used only HFSS so i wanted to know..
i really think that if ya consider the big picture, nothing beats HFSS..
I too agree HFSS is unbeatable... but when u simulate a simple structured antennas or planar antennas .. Microstripes 7.0 allows faster simulating time with compromise of shift in the center frequency.
u can try this s/w at <<www.flomerics.com>> and sample tutorials.
Microstripes give more flexibility and more user friendly to user after it al depends on user how he design no doubt due to the use of TLM solver it is fast and accurate ..i had compare lot of hardware result with it ..
