I would like to build a device that attaches between the keyboard of a computer and the cpu via a USB conection and functions as follows.
when a user types a word on the keyboard, upon receipt of a carrage return, the device would look up that word or string in a table and if found would substitute a corasponding word or string from the table. If a string was not found in the table or if the string was longer than a specified length the device would pass the string thru un-altered.
I would like to be able to modify the table, adding code numbers or deleting same.
Any ideas on how I can accomplish this or where I can gain additional knowledge.
