I recently installed Altium 14.1.5 and I found it's impossible to make it work (in 3D mode) on my Dell D620 notebook (WIN7, Intel G945 on board video chipset). I tried also with SwiftShadder 3.0 dll but Altium always crash with this virtual adapter.

Any solution with SwiftShadder 3.0?

I used Altium before few years ago on a Toshiba SA60 (much worse) and 3D worked nice but I can't remember which version :) Any Idea which one?

This is a global conspiracy to get a better notebook ?!

thanks very much,

Try changing the 3D view settings in " Preferences->PCB Editor->Display"
Try reducing antialiasing quality, disabling DirectX
