Colleagues,

I've created a working project in 09. I've linked a few standard libraries in addition to the default ones. Now I've opened the same project in 10, and some of the library links are broken. For example, the library with 0603 component is no longer visible to my project.

I've copied libraries from my old 09 installation to the default library directory of my new 10 installation (different computer). But that didn't help.

What would be the best way to fix this? Is there a way to extract libraries from the original project? Then I could connect the libraries manually. Even if 10 had modified the project, I have a backup.

Any suggestion, insight or reference is really appreciated.

Cheers,
- Nick

In your working project in '09, you can create libraries of the parts used: For the schematic: Design -> Make Schematic Library, and for the PCB: Design -> Make PCB Library. ( or Design -> Make Integrated Library for a combined compiled library ) They will become part of the project and should work in '10. -Kevin

Hi Kevin,

There's one complicating factor, which I failed to mention in the initial post. I no longer have the license for 09, so I can't open the project in 09. The full license for 10 is node-locked to it's computer.

Thanks for you tip about making project's compiled library, I'll use it in the future.

I've discovered that library file names are written in plain text inside .SchDoc files. I went through .SchDoc files, compiled the list of libraries, manually added them to the project in 10. That worked!
