hi sidra here !!

I know that most famous protocol used on transport layer is TCP/IP ... are there any other proposed protocols whch can be used instead of TCP/IP ... of course they are not in use ... but what are the proposed alternative protocols? ... please reply....

Older: IPX/SPX, NetBEUI

TCP/IP Ver. 6 and SCTP

SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Protocol)

**broken link removed**

Each protocol have own capabilities and TCP/IP and SCTP are advanced protocols compared with others.
