Alterantives to optocouplers for controlling an AC motor

I'm using optocouplers to isolate a microcontroller from the power part of my circuit. Thing is I've burned all my MOC2011 (don't ask me how). Clearly I wasn't careful enough with the schematics. I don't have any left and I don't think I can get some for a few weeks.

The motor in question is a single phase 220V 200W ac motor. So far I've tested the power electronics and everything works fine. Just need a way to variate speed with my arduino.

What other techniques for isolating and controlling an ac motor can I use instead of optocouplers? I'm already trying a DIY method using a photoresistor and a led.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 

a pulse transformer is the only alternative for isolation.

My recommendation: read the datasheets and follow the rules. That's what we all have to do.

Else you may kill any other device, too. Or it simply doesn't work.
You should recognize: The MOC is not the problem for the fails.

If circuit is properly grounded (and all safety measurements is taken care of so that ground potential can't disconnect without disconnecting the live parts first) you can always use a capacitive voltage divider.

Because of the risk of electric shock I would in general not reccomend this solution.

Yes, we have to ask. Otherwise how can we help you find your errors?

Please share your schematic. And please show all of the component's values.

The MOC2011 was introduced 35 or more years ago. It has been reliably used in millions and millions of circuits.
