Hi~ I am a newbie for using FPGA with verilog. I am doing a project using Altera DE2 board and I need to let the users to input some words or sentences. Is there any terminals or tools which can be used since I am using verilog? Can anyone advise on this or is there any examples of previous work? Thank you very much!

DE2 has a PS/2 connector, perfectly suited to connect a PC keyboard.

1. The most obvious will implement a UART inside your FPGA and communicate over RS232 with any PC that has a terminal software.
The TX and RX lines interconnect to the outside world using the DE9 connector.

2. More advanced implementation will use the Ethernet port.
