Hello, I haven't encountered such thing before - Allegro does not want to read the footprint files! The situation is like this: I have created a folder Layout on my desktop and indise I have placed folder Devices and another one Symbols. Without any change in the library paths the BRD files that I created inside the Layout folder didn't have problem finding all the footprint located inside the /desktop/layout/symbols folder. For my last PCB that I started a day ago it insist on not recognizing the *.dra files. the message is this:
"#1 WARNING(SPMHNI-192): Device/Symbol check warning detected.

WARNING(SPMHNI-194): Symbol 'SMD_R_0402_CAP1005X55N' for device 'C_SMD_R_0402_CAP1005X55N_20PF' not found in PSMPATH or must be "dbdoctor"ed."
Same thing for all the component footprints.
I then changed in Allegro PCB Editor the path to the libraries with the current directories - nothing. In fact...in the error message the symbol is the footprint name, but the device - what is it? I don't have such thing in my device folder, let alone in my orcad capture library. Please anyone bring some light to this library thing. Thanks!

This error is the most stupid thing i have seen i this tool, as if You have a flaw in defining a pad shape or padshape is not placed in the right folder or something like that, this error shows up.
Another resson could be You have a property called eg revision and it is a forth running number for having controll of Your footprints, and another person had the same property but as string..
When Your netlist is read only with warnings, then try place those giving the warning and read status in command window. This info is helpfull in many cases.
