What are the Advantages of scr over diode?

A diode has only 2 wires but an SCR has 3 wires. What is the 3rd wire used for? Duh, basically to turn on the SCR when you want!

Your questions imply that you never went to school and that you have no text books. It seems that you ask questions on this forum instead of finding the answers yourself in Google.

A DC motor speed and direction controller can use an H-bridge circuit. Are you asking about the DC to AC circuit used in a bug zapper or used in a power inverter?
