hey has anyone any idea about how we can convert the industrial 4-20 volts industrial standard into 0-5 volts standard the readon i am asking this is for use with adc 0804 because it can digitise only 0-5 volts not 4-20 volts .has any one done this before plz answer

It looks like you are talking about 4-20mA (not 4-20V) ..
This current can be easily converted from mA to V by using a 250Ω termination resistor ..
The voltage range will be 1.00V (for 4mA) and 5.00V (for 20mA) ..
If you want to, you can use an opamp to expand the range from 1-5V to 0-5V, or you can program your microcontroller to do this correction in software ..
