about usb what do bit stuffing do in usb 2.0 design

hi

i strarted a mini project on UTMI block in USB 2.0 .so iam going through intel pds . my dout is what actually this BIT STUFFING helps in error detection and why NZRI ENCODING and DECODING is done .

plz help me how to approch this mini project

i am going through intel's UTMI pdf's . but i am not getting an overall idea about why bit stuffing and other things are actually doing

Because the signals of USB aren't according to the pointed clock. There are "phase shift".

If you don't insert the stuff bit, how do you know that you have got the right bit after continuous "1"?
