Hi friends,

How can I have access to the bitstream.bit file and how can I open it?

regards

I don't have it installed in this computer but i think the the file is created when you implement the design, if not you can run the create programing file.
The file is created in your project folder.
You can open it with a text editor.

Hi alexan_e

I can't open it with .txt I have windows XP

Regards

How is this possible?
What message do you get?
Are you actually changing the extension, because the default setting in windows it to hide the extensions so when you try to change for example a name.bit file you get a name.txt.bit file which still can't be opened with notepad.

You can also open the notepad, click open file and select to show all extensions and then select the .bit file

In xilinx, when u make bit file and then u click open folder u will not see it b/c by default setting, it cannnot show bit file
u have to select All files*.* option to see bit file.
And u can open it through notepad but u will not be able to understand it
it will be like a machine language
