Xilinx has announced the sparten3 series fpga with surprising price.
but now Altera say 90nm technics is for 2005 only. Then can xilinx supply
sparten3 fpga 2004 quantified?
Anyone can confirm it to me?Thanks!

Surprising price?. Yes, they cost a fortune in any sensible quantity. Only the 50 is available. I cannot even get an expected availabilty time on bigger devices. Very disappointing.

90nm is a great challenge, both for vendor and user.
Perhasp you can get ES sample very early, but it will take a long tome to mass production.

Xilinx said she can provide mass products of 1500 in Q3, but it seems it is very difficult. And as far as I know, to control the power consumption in a acceptable level, Xilinx slow down the speed of spartan3 deliberately.

Xilinx has planned to produce Spartan 3 family all along the year 2004 (50, then 200, then 400, then 1000, then 1500).
For low prices on these product, it's better to wait for 2005...
