User elektryku5 presents his project of a soldering station with a very simple construction. Recycled parts were used, only a soldering iron with a thermocouple had to be bought.

The casing and transformer was obtained from an old CB power supply (it was hopeless, it had rather a small heat sink and instable input voltage), the relay was adapted from an broken main module of an old dish cleaner, and resistors, capacitors and other come from home storage.

As of now there is no description of the front panel and it will not probably be made, because the user knows, in which position of the potentiometer a particular temperature is.

The circuit of the station was designed in the way that it was as simple as possible (the station must be reliable) and it was compatible with the power supply that was offered by the old power supply. The rectifying bridge and two 2200uF capacitors were left in the power supply, On the output, there is 23V DC voltage that supplies simultaneously the immersion heater and thermostat that was created on the operational LM358 amplifier.

This is the circuit:

Hysteresis of the thermostat is about 40'C, it is a proper value for the user’s needs (Soldering threaded materials, sometimes SMD as well).

Everything works just fine.
