This is a project of a simple power supply – inverter for LCD display with EL foil. The inverter consists of few easily available elements.
The device produces a voltage of about 150-170V, works with a frequency of about 30kHz.
You may need an oscilloscope to run the inverter. After assembling the device, you just plug the oscilloscope to the output by a probe 1:10. Serve the supply voltage and observe the waveform at the output. The waveform should look like in picture 5 below. By adjusting the potentiometers P2 and P3, turn until you get the course as shown in picture 5c ( C ).

Correctly adjusted inverter should consume approximately 70mA. On chokes soldered out from an old cassette player it consumes about 100-120mA.
If you do not have an oscilloscope, just turn until you gain as much backlight brightness as possible and minimal power consumption of the inverter.
