hspice flicker noise simulation

Hi, everyone

I have a question about HSPICE .noise simulation.
.noise vout vin 5
I think the noise is generated by the circuit, so why is "vin" here, does the noise have any relations with vin?
Thanks very much!

input refered noise.

what does "input refered noise" mean, can you give me more detail, thank you very much.
And does this noise simulation contain both of flicker noise and thermal noise?

Vin is the reference means vout will be calculated with vin as ref. , vout/vin...
this simulation gives TOTAL noise w.r.t. Vin..
flicker noise is contained if you have evoked or changed the correct BSIM parameters of flicker noise.otherwise not.

OK, thank you very much!
And another question, in the .lis netlist, there are some parameters of mos transistors, show as follows:

element 143:m26 143:m44
rd 0. 0.
rs 0. 0.
id 1.628e-26 0.
rx 40.1108m 228.9693u
fn 0. 0.
total 1.628e-26 0.

what does rd, rs id, rx, fn and total mean?

Has some one done this simulation? Help me please, thanks very much!

This information can be found in the HSPICE manual and hope this can help you:

rd: output thermal noise due to drain resistor
rs: output thermal noise due to source resistor
rx: Transfer function of channel thermal or flicker noise to the output. This is not a noise, it is a transfer coefficient, reflecting the contribution of channel thermal or flicker noise to the output
id: Output channel thermal noise: ID = RX^2
fn: Output flicker noise:FN = Rx^2
TOT: Total output noise: TOT = RD + RS + ID + FN.
