Apart from not-able-to-work properly, what all could be the preformance changes when the bulk is connected to drain in a pmos insead to a source(Vdd in precise.)

I would like to know the specific performance changes of it.Could anyone throw some light on it

As far as I knew, source and drain are interchangeable.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. In general point of view, as u said they both are interchangeable.

Is it the same in the schematic level too(I am designing some amplifier schematic and stuffs like that..)

I know this question is a bit weird but still would like to get clarified with myself. In the respective circuit(In cadence) I am talking about, I have given mistakenly the bulk connection to Vdd in terms of a NMOS instead of ground connection. And the strangest thing is. it is working. as it should be.!

That was when I got this query.Kindly pardon me if its a very weird question.Answer it if u r interested to...:)

But I have seen some data-sheets of dual MOS ICs where they have shown a diode between the drain and the source parallel t the channel. This means if the source and the drain are interchanged the diode will short and the device will not work

Correct. That is not a source and a drain. That is a source and cathode; and a drain and anode; another device style.
