i'm not sure if this is the right board for this question but here it goes anyways.
i am looking for an i.d. on a component from a late 70's motorcycle cdi unit.
some people think it might be a thermistor, resistor or possibly a diode,it looks like none if those.it actually looks like a surface mount component but with wires attached.it is not homemade and it has not been put in by anyone,it has been covered in potting since the day it was made up until now.

anyways anything anyone can tell me about it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

hi
no part no or like that here u can de solder one of lead to separete from circuit and test with avo to check it to know wat ist

i prefer to do that with new moudle not damage one .

It strongly looks like a power diode (without the molding). The wire diameter can help you to guess the rating.
