I'm interested in this fieldm, using Radar for detecting the obstacles. But I don't know how much does it cost? Is it expensive?

Ps: I'm gonna use: 76GHz Millimeter Wave Automobile Radar using Single Chip MMIC

76 GHz radars are so far quite expensive. This band is being used for car traffic radars, so over two-three years they may became available for less than $100-200.
To detect moving obstacles, you can find many "toy" radars like Mattel 10 GHz handheld toy radar; other manufacturers offer tiny Doppler radars operating at 10 or 24 GHz. Google Doppler radars.
Those devices cost $50-350, some an detect golf-ball speed.
To detect fixed obstacles, you can find ultrasonic handheld distance meters, like Craftsman, operating up to ~15 meters. Mine cost $10. Other devices use pulsed laser, cost ~$50 and their range is ~50m.
