realise 8:1 mux using only 4:1 mux

Hi friends

I want implement a 4:1 mux using 8:1 mux. I have a solution. whether it is correct?
I attached the Logic, see to it and reply.

Hi research............

well the Logic you have gone for is not right....BECAUSE one pin is always grounded

which means no chance of selecting 100,101,110,111.......states.....RIGHT

if you write the characteristic table you will realize.........the fault

the method to go is for the grnd pin connect another mux(2 x 1)...

i think this should work

8:1 mux using 4: 1 mux

I accept the point that u said. But for a 4:1 mux the select lines are 00, 01,10,11. If we apply this to S0,S1... we get the ouput, But as u said It will not satisfy the remaining 4.

can u tell clearly...

Added after 47 minutes:

Hi there is no need to connect the GND pin to another mux, Its an extra harware.

I tell clearly..

S0 S1 S2
0 0 0
0 0 1
0 1 0
0 1 1
1 0 0
1 0 1
1 1 0
1 1 1

Here S2 is grounded.. Now we have the combinations 00,01,10,11, when applyed it works as 4:1 Mux.

Chech it out, if any comment most welcome...
