Hello,

To make scrolling display, everywhere I see a technique of LED matrix i.e. rows x columns.
But, as the number of LEDs increases, the hardware becomes costly.

I am in search of a solution which would be cheap in terms of hardware and flexible enough to add number of LEDs. I am ready to design very complex software for it but could not design effective h/w yet :-(

For sample purpose, I started up with 256 leds, 89V51RD2 mc, and 74HC373 ULN2003 ics. (The number of LEDs will increase in real display as it will be a big screen)

Can anyone suggest me some effective solutions for designing hardware?

I have done intensive search on google and this site but hardly got something.

tnx for reply...
if you can put the comments in this thread??
