Low amp DC is a good candidate for solid state solutions, here is an example of something close:

This depletion fet is normally on. 2 in series back-to-back for AC blocking with a photovoltaic gate driver to make them go open is a good custom solution. Heatsinking required.

You need a regular contactor; a conventional AC relay rated at 440VAC may not be suitable.
The problem is with the arcing at the contacts; for AC loads, the arcing will last at most 1/2 cycle (that is when the voltage goes down to zero). And you need to derate them for inductive loads.
For DC loads, the arc will get extinguished only when the contacts move far away (magnetic quenching of the arc is common for small contactors). These contactors are available but you can also consider some "solid state solutions".
